PEO believes that poor people’s capacity can be enhanced through raising their critical awareness and encouraging and committing them to act on their awareness. The poor have very little social capital and being unorganized, they cannot lay their just claim on the various resources provided by the state and local govt. bodies for people such as Vulnerable Group Feeding Card-BGFC (food security for people who have fallen in hard times), Old age pensions for old and disabled, stipends for children education. PEO community organizers conduct dialogue sessions with the groups and discuss issues of poverty and facilitate the poor women to find out for themselves the real causes and thus stimulate their thinking to find an answer to the problem of their vulnerability and poverty. PEO workers use various mediums like popular theatre, Cultural group, group discussions, video film shows, experience sharing and analysis of the problems.
